Police curfew imposed in Negombo

Police curfew has been imposed within Negombo police division with immediate effect, stated the Police Media Spokesperson.

The curfew has been imposed in order to control a tense situation in the area which arose due to a clash between two groups in Porutota-Kochchikade area in Negombo.

Accordingly, the curfew will be in effect until 7 am tomorrow morning (06).

The curfew is enforced in Negombo, Kochchikade, Katunayake, Divulapitiya, Kotadeniyawa, Pamunugama, Raddolugama, Seeduwa, Dungalpitiya and Katana police divisions.

However, the situation has now been curtailed by the police and security forces.
