I will not accept any other Cabinet post - Sarath Fonseka

May 11, 2019   03:09 pm

Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka says that high security measures must be put in place if the schools are to be reopened in the country and if students are expected to come.

Speaking to reporters following an event yesterday (11), the MP was asked whether he still believes he would be given ministerial portfolios related to law & order or defence.

The former Army Commander said it is difficult for him to say whether he will be given the relevant ministry and that he had turned down an offer to accept a different cabinet ministerial post and a position as an advisor to the national security council.

“The stance I am in today is that I will not accept any other cabinet minister post,” Fonseka said.
