February 6, 2020   09:22 am

A temporary break down in the power supply is experienced in Nugegoda and Kirulapone areas, stated the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).

The power outage is due to damage to two CEB underground power lines in the Kirulapone area this morning (06), stated Power and Renewable Energy Ministry Spokesman Sulakshana Jayawardena.

Reportedly, the damage had occurred during the construction of a sewerage project in Colombo.

Accordingly, power cuts have been imposed in several areas including Kirulapone to Nugegoda, Balapokuna Road and Jayasinghe Mawatha.

However, the reparation work is currently underway and will be completed soon, Jayawardena added.
