Four Lankan passengers nabbed with foreign cigarettes worth millions

Four Sri Lankan passengers have been apprehended at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for smuggling in 454 cartons of foreign cigarettes.

Customs officers attached to the Katunayake Airport had seized the contraband, which is estimated to be worth Rs. 4.5 million.

The four suspects had arrived in the island early this morning (14) from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

A married couple from Ambalangoda area is also among the apprehended suspects.
