Two admitted to Polonnaruwa Hospital on coronavirus suspicions

Two persons have been admitted to the Polonnaruwa hospital on the suspicion of having contracted the novel coronavirus, stated the Hospital Director.

A person from the Kandakadu quarantine center and another person on a pilgrimage to Somawathiya have been hospitalized in this manner.

The patients had been admitted to the hospital this morning (12).

Reportedly, both patients are Sri Lankans who had arrived in the country from Italy.

The patient on the pilgrimage to Somawathiya had returned to Sri Lanka before March 10 and had tripped around the country visiting several places.

The two patients are to be transferred to the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) in Angoda, stated Ada Derana reporter.

Meanwhile, health services have requested individuals returning from Italy, South Korea and Iran before March 10 to self-quarantine in order to assist contain the spread of the virus.
