Three more confirmed cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19) have been identified in the country bringing the total number of patient to 21.

 

Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe revealed this while addressing a press briefing at the Government Information Department today (16).

 

He stated that the three new patients include a 13-year-old girl and two males aged 50 and 37. 

 

All three of them are patients currently admitted at the IDH Hospital in Angoda, he said.

 

Dr. Anil Jasinghe stated that currently 18 hospitals are being used to treat patients suspected of contracting Covid-19 and the facilities necessary to operate them is being organised.

 

He stated that more patients could likely be identified from the quarantine centers in the coming days and that they are preparing for alternative facilities to accommodate them. 

 

The Director General also urged the public to avoid visiting clothing stores and purchasing clothing items of materials on display during these days, especially as the New Year season is approaching.
