Navy conducts sterilization programme at Manning Market

As a measure of controlling the spreading of new COVID-19 in the country, Sri Lanka Navy has conducted sterilization programmes at Colombo Manning Market premises.

Under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Siva, a number of sterilization programmes are being carried out by the Navy’s Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit.

Accordingly, CBRN Unit engaged in sterilizing the Colombo Manning Market premises yesterday (27). Since the government has decided to maintain trade activities at the Manning Market as an essential service, the premises was sterilized to keep a safe environment for the traders in the market and who come from outside there.

The sterilization of the whole market premises was conducted following standard operational procedure.
