195 curfew violators arrested within Colombo

Sri Lanka Police says that 195 individuals have been arrested for violating the curfew currently in effect, during a special operation carried out within the city of Colombo throughout today (31).

The special operation was carried out by officers of the Colombo city traffic division covering areas from Colombo 1 to Colombo 15. 

In addition to this 110 vehicles have also been taken into police custody during the operation.

Sri Lanka Police said that none of the vehicles taken into custody will be released back to their respective owners, until the prevailing Coronavirus (COVID-19) threat is eliminated. 

Meanwhile the police will be carrying out similar operations across the island in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
