138 from several areas including Rajagiriya-Kolonnawa-Kolabissa sent for quarantine

A total of 138 persons from Rajagiriya, Kolonnawa and Kolabissa and several other areas have been directed to quarantine centres, says the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.

Accordingly, 67 from Kolabissa in Kandy, 29 from Bandaranayakepura in Rajagiriya, 27 from Kolonnawa have been sent for quarantine as a positive case of COVID-19 has been detected from each of these three areas, he stated.

He added that 4, 883 persons are currently undergoing quarantine at the quarantine centres maintained by the Tri-forces.
 
The Army Chief also said 47 persons left Tri-forces-operated quarantine centres today, adding that a total of 5,089 in the country have completed the quarantine procedure so far.

Out of the 33 positive cases of coronavirus confirmed on Monday (04), 31 were identified from the Welisara Navy Camp.

Thereby, the total number of naval personnel who tested positive for the virus so far stands at 329, the Army Chief explained.
