Count of coronavirus infections in Sri Lanka moves to 991

Five more cases of COVID-19 infections have been reported a short while ago, confirmed the Ministry of Health.

With the new cases, the count of COVID-19 cases identified today (18) rises to 10. Previously, 5 Navy personnel were reported to have contracted the disease.

Thereby the total count of novel coronavirus cases reported in Sri Lanka has moved to 991.

The number of recoveries in the country rose to 559 earlier today while a total of 418 active cases are currently under medical care.

The number of fatalities due to the virus in Sri Lanka is 09. 

According to the Health Ministry, around 1,254 PCR tests were carried out yesterday and 21 new cases were identified within yesterday.
