357 navy personnel still being treated for Covid-19

A total of 578 navy personnel have tested positive for Coronavirus so far while 221 of them have recovered and have been discharged from hospital, the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said.

 

The Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) told reporters today that 357 navy personnel are still receiving treatment for COVID-19 at selected hospitals.

 

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the country so far stands at 1,027 while 434 of them are currently under medical care at selected hospitals. The total number of Covid-19 recoveries in Sri Lanka is 584.

 

Another twelve naval personnel infected with coronavirus who underwent treatment in hospitals, had been discharged from the hospitals after being tested negative to COVID-19, yesterday (19).

 

Out of these twelve, 07 persons were admitted in Naval General Hospital, 04 persons in IDH hospital and 01 person in Welikanda hospital. 

 

As of now, including these 12 naval personnel, 221 naval personnel out of the total number of infected, have been discharged from hospitals after testing negative to COVID-19. 

 

Further, these discharged naval personnel were directed to keep under quarantine for another 14 days following the healthcare instructions.
