COVID-19: Two navy men test positive as cases tally climbs to 1,057

Two more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 as of 6.30 pm on Friday (22), says the Ministry of Health.

These new positive cases have been identified as naval personnel, the Department of Government Information confirmed.

Sri Lanka’s total count of coronavirus infections thereby reached 1,057.

Meanwhile, 620 of these coronavirus patients have made complete recoveries so far.

According to the tally of Epidemiology Unit, 428 active cases are under medical care at IDH, Welikanda Base Hospital, Navy Hospital, Colombo East Base Hospital, Iranawila Hospital, Kattankudy Base Hospital, Homagama Base Hospital and Minuwangoda Base Hospital.

The country’s death toll due to coronavirus currently stands at 09.
