More than 18,900 cases filed against curfew violators

A total of 541 individuals have been arrested for violating curfew orders during the last 24 hours ending at 6.00 am today (23).

Meanwhile, 138 vehicles were also taken into custody during this period.

The Police said 62,162 persons have been placed under arrest for violating the curfew since March 20 and 17,460 vehicles have been seized.

In addition, 18,992 cases pertaining to curfew violations have been filed so far.

Sri Lanka Police has warned of strict legal action against people caught violating the quarantine curfew regulations and penalties have been imposed on 7,387 offenders.
