COVID-19: Seven returnees from Qatar add to yesterday’s count

With 07 more individuals testing positive for COVID-19 last night (30), Sri Lanka has reported a total of 62 coronavirus infections within yesterday.

The last 07 infected persons have been identified as persons who arrived in the country from Qatar, confirmed the Department of Government Information.

Thereby, the total count of coronavirus cases detected in Sri Lanka is at 1,620 cases.

A total of 829 active cases are under medical care at selected hospitals across the island, as per the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry.

The tally of coronavirus recoveries recorded from the country stands at 781 cases.

Sri Lanka reported its 10th COVID-19 death on May 25 as a 51-year-old woman who had arrived in the country from Kuwait succumbed to the disease.
