As per the results of the PCR tests carried out yesterday (30), no COVID-19 infected person has been reported from the ‘Gaffoor Building’ in Colombo and the surrounding communities.

With the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country, the Sri Lanka Navy had used the building in question for its most essential administrative activities.

On May 27, one of the navy personnel engaged in duties at the ‘Gaffoor Building’ had tested positive for COVID-19.

Accordingly, biosample and blood samples were collected from persons who had close contact with him and selected individuals from the surrounding community to be subjected to PCR testing.

However, no coronavirus infections have been identified among the samples.
