The G. C. E. Advanced Level examination for the year 2020 has been postponed September, stated the Ministry of Education.

Minister of Education Dullas Alahapperuma mentioned this at a special press conference held at the Ministry premises this afternoon (09).

Accordingly, the A/L examination will commence on the 07th of September and conclude on the 02nd of October.

Previously, the exam was scheduled to be held on August 05.

The Minister stated that there were two options for holding the examination; either prepare question papers omitting the uncovered parts of the syllabus or postpone the examination altogether.

However, students, both facing the exam for the first and retaking, had not agreed with the first option. Therefore, the exam was postponed to September, said the Minister.

Meanwhile, the Grade 5 Scholarship exam will be held on the 05th of September, said the Education Ministry. Previously, it was to be held on August 03.
