Three-day dengue prevention campaigns in 6 districts from tomorrow

National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) says three-day dengue prevention campaigns will be carried out from tomorrow (11) in six districts that have been identified as high-risk areas for the disease.

Director of the NDCU Dr. Aruna Jayasekara said the campaigns will kick off in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Ratnapura and Kegalle districts.

According to the NDCU’s statistics, a total of 20,355 dengue cases have been reported so far this year, with Colombo District in the lead with 2,912 cases.

In the meantime, 1,238 dengue cases have been detected within the month of May.
