A 53-year-old man has been assaulted to death in the area of Mirihana last night (10), the Police said.

The victim was identified as the Chairman of Self-Employed Professionals’ Three-Wheeler Association, Sunil Jayawardena, a resident of Kesbewa area.

According to a piece of information received by Mirihana Police at around 6.20 pm last evening (10) via the 119 Hotline, an argument had broken out between two men including Jayawardena and several employees of a finance company at the firm’s premises.
