130 Sri Lankans repatriated from Pakistan

A special repatriation flight carrying 130 Sri Lankan nationals who were stranded in Pakistan due to the Covid-19 epidemic, reached the island this morning (15).

The passengers had been picked up from both Lahore and Karachi airports while the SriLankan Airlines flight UL-1282 had touched down at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake at around 4.40 a.m. this morning.

Upon reaching the airport, all the passengers and the crew of the plane were subjected to PCR tests and they are expected to be temporarily placed at 04 hotels near the airport until the results of the tests are received.
