Constable commits suicide near Madampe Police Station

A police constable serving attached to the Madampe Police had committed suicide in front of the police station, stated Ada Derana reporter.

The officer’s body had been discovered early this morning (16).

Reportedly, the deceased is a resident of the Kodikamam area in Jaffna.

Acting Magistrate of Chilaw Chanaka Udayanga and the Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) of the Chilaw Hospital Ramesh Alagiyawanna had conducted the preliminary investigations at the scene.

The Acting Magistrate had then ordered the JMO to submit a report on the death following a post mortem.

Further investigations are carried out by the Madampe Police.
