162 to self quarantine for not wearing face masks in public

A total of 162 persons in the Western Province who were not wearing face masks in public have been detained and sent for self quarantine within the last 24 hours ending at 5.00 a.m. today (July 01), police said.

The Office of the Senior DIG in charge of Western Province stated that another 905 individuals who were not properly wearing face masks were strongly advised released.

The office further said that police officers will be continuing operations to detain individuals who are not wearing face masks as per mandatory health guidelines.
