46-year-old arrested with over 75g of heroin

A person has been arrested in Puttalam early this morning (12) while in possession of 75g of heroin.
According to reports, the heroin haul is estimated to be worth nearly Rs. 1.5 million.
The police said Rs. 262,150 in cash, suspected to have earned from drug dealing, was seized during the raid carried out at around 7.30pm last night (11).
The arrest was made acting on the information received by the officers of Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) attached to the Puttalam branch.
The suspect has been identified as a 46-year-old from Thiladiya, Puttalam. He is to be produced before Puttalam Magistrate’s Court today (12).
The PNB is conducting further investigations into the incident.
