No decision so far to close off Katunayake EPZ – BOI

October 10, 2020   10:18 am

The Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka says a decision has not yet been taken to close off the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Katunayake, in the face of the current Covid-19 situation in the country.

The BOI made this remark dismissing the rumours claiming that measures have been taken to shut off the Export Processing Zone following the detection of a Covid-19 patient.

However, the apparel factory where the novel coronavirus case was reported has been cordoned off.

It is reported that the employees of the relevant apparel factory were referred to PCR tests.
