The Ministry of Health has urged the general public to minimize their visits to see patients admitted to hospitals, taking into account the current Covid-19 situation in the country.

In a notice issued today (10), the Director General of Health Services Dr S. Sridharan requested the public to strictly adhere to the health guidelines issued by health authorities to prevent the spread of the virus.

Accordingly, the public is advised to make sure to maintain the one-meter social distancing, wash their hands frequently and to wear face masks when visiting hospitals.

The health authorities have requested the public visiting hospitals to hand over the supplies for patients “by appropriate methods without directly meeting the patients”.

They further urged patients to visit the rearrest hospitals for essential health services.
