Two dead after elevator collapses in Kandy

Two persons were killed after a temporary elevator collapsed at a clothing store located on Dharmashoka Mawatha, Kandy.

Ada Derana reporter said that two masons who were carrying out repairs at the said building had died in the incident. The elevator had reportedly collapsed while they were carrying out repairs.

The deceased have been identified as Ambalangoda Gurugedara Aravinda (54), a resident of Kandy, and Upali Jayaratne (57),a resident of Katugasthota.

Kandy Headquarters Police is conducting further investigations.
