Validity period of driving licences extended

The validity period of driving licences has been temporarily extended until the 31st of December, the Ministry of Transport says.
The relevant gazette notification, signed by Minister of Transport Gamini Lokuge, was published on the 19th of October.
The extension was granted in line with Section 237 read with Section 126 of the Motor Traffic Act (Chapter 203).
