The alleged SMS news alert claiming that a curfew has been imposed in the Wellawatte and Bambalapitya areas is fake according to Police Media Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.

A news alert, claiming to be from the Ada Derana News Alert Service, is being circulated on social media in order to create panic among the public.

However, the so-called news alert is completely false, DIG Rohana confirmed.
