Five arrested in Thirukkovil with firearms

Five individuals have been arrested with firearms at the Thirukkovil area in Ampara, stated the Police Headquarters.

The arrests have been made by the Thirukkovil Police based on a tip-off received by them.

Reportedly, a total of 07-locally manufactured firearms including a 12 Bore gun have been seized from the suspects.

In addition, 05 rounds of 12-Bore ammunition have also been found on the suspects.

The arrested suspects are of the ages of 26,29, 44, 46, and 68 years.

They are to be presented before the Thirukkovil Magistrate’s Court.
