Chilaw trade complex closed for a week

It has been decided to close down the operations at the Chilaw fish and vegetable trade complex for a period of a week.

Chairman of the Municipal Council Thushan Abeysekera stated that this decision was taken at a special meeting held today (26).

However, temporary locations in the city will be assigned for vegetable and fish traders to carry out their trade activities, the Chairman said.

Abeysekera added that it has been decided to implement a program to distribute essential food items to quarantined families in the Chilaw Municipal Council area.
