Sri Lanka confirms 30th death from Covid-19

Sri Lanka has reported another covid-19 related death, Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardhane confirmed a short while ago.

The deceased has been identified as a 23-year-old male from Colombo 15 area.

He had been under medical care at the National Institute for Infectious Diseases (NIID) in Angoda when he passed away yesterday (05), the Department of Government Information said.

The cause of death has been determined as novel coronavirus infection and diabetes complications.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths in Sri Lanka to 30.
