The Central Mail Exchange has decided to resume selected services from tomorrow (November 09) onwards.

Thereby, Express Mail Service (EMS) courier, Business Mail and Sri Lanka Post courier services will continue following the relaxation of quarantine curfew.

Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyaratne, in a media release issued today, said registered mail division is expected to be reopened from Tuesday (10).

Delivering letters to government offices in the city of Colombo and suburbs will accordingly resume from Wednesday (11), the postmaster general said further.

He noted that services may experience certain delays as operations are resumed with the minimum number of staff members.

Operations at the Central Mail Exchange came to a complete halt since the 5th of November after three of its staff members were tested positive for Covid-19 on three occasions. The premises were subsequently disinfected as per the instructions of the health officials.
