Sri Lanka confirms 36th COVID-19 death

Sri Lanka’s Covid-19 death toll went up to 36 as a person receiving treatment at the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) passed away, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed a short while ago.

The deceased is an 84-year-old woman residing in the Kandana area, according to the Department of Government Information.

Reportedly, she had been suffering from a long-term illness and was transferred from a private hospital to the IDH where she succumbed to the virus.

The cause of death has been determined as COVID-19 related pneumonia.
