One dead, several injured in fatal collision in Matara

A man has died in a vehicle collision that took place in Eliyakanda area on Matara-Tangalle main road this morning (21).

According to Ada Derana correspondent, a bus and a lorry transporting tomatoes have collided head-on. 

The driver of the lorry reportedly died on the spot while five passengers of the bus sustained injuries.

The deceased has been identified as a 69-year-old from Bandattara area in Matara.

Matara Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
