Coronavirus death toll in Sri Lanka climbs to 118

Sri Lanka’s death toll from the novel coronavirus has risen to 118 as two more fell victim to the virus, the Department of Government Information confirmed.

One of the deceased patients is a 72-year-old male from the Galaha area. He had succumbed to diabetes, high blood pressure, and COVID-19 related cardiac arrest upon admittance to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital on November 27.

An 81-year-old female from Atalugama has passed away at her home on November 28. The cause of death has been determined as aggravated high blood pressure, diabetes, and increased amounts of cholesterol in the blood due to COVID-19 infection.

Sri Lanka has reported a total of 23,802 COVID-19 cases so far.
