Two employees of Kolonnawa Post Office have been tested positive for Covid-19, says Deputy Postmaster General (Operations) Rajitha Ranasinghe.

Thereby, the Kolonnawa Post Office and six sub-post offices under its purview were closed off.

Speaking on the coronavirus situation in the postal service, Mr Ranasinghe said the post offices and sub-post offices in Kurunegala District – except the Kurunegala Post Office and its sub-offices – will resume operations starting from today (02).

These post offices had temporarily halted operations following Covid-19 exposure.

Mr Ranasinghe added that 190 employees of Kurungeala District’s main post office and the regional postal superintendent’s office have tested negative after being referred to PCR tests.

The operations of Kurunegala main post office are expected to resume from next Monday in compliance with health instructions, he said further.
