Sri Lanka confirms 05 more deaths from Covid-19

Five more persons including one woman who were infected with Covid-19 virus have passed away, the Director-General of Health Services confirmed a short while ago.

 

New fatalities were reported from Kolonnawa, Colombo 02, Colombo 10 and Colombo 12 areas, according to the Department of Government Information.

 

The new development brings the total deaths from Covid-19 to 129.

 

One of the victims is a 56-year-old woman from Kolonnaa area. She has died on Saturday (November 28) while receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital. The cause of death was cited as heart disease and complications from diabetes exacerbated by Covid-19 infection.

 

An 89-year-old man who as living in Colombo 12 has died upon admission to Colombo National Hospital yesterday (December 02). The post-mortem examination confirmed that he had been suffering from Covid-19 infection, high blood pressure and brain haemorrhage.

 

Another man has died upon admission to Colombo National Hospital on Monday (November 30). The cause of death was determined as complications from a bacterial infection exacerbated by Covid-19 virus. The 85-year-old is reportedly a resident of Colombo 10 area.

 

Meanwhile, a 71-year-old from Colombo 10, has died at home on Wednesday (December 02). He has suffered a heart attack caused by coronavirus infection.

 

A 78-year-old residing in Colombo 02 fell victim to the virus today (03) while receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital. The cause of death was cited as respiratory dysfunction and Covid-19 pneumonia.
