Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 tally up by 354 new infections

The total count of COVID-19 cases reported in Sri Lanka reached 50,583 as 354 more persons were tested positive for the virus. 

Reportedly, 347 of the new cases are close contacts of the Peliyagoda fish market cluster. The remaining 07 have been detected from the prison cluster. 

As per the Health Ministry’s data, 43,747 of the confirmed patients have made complete recoveries from the virus.

However, 6,589 active cases are still under medical care at selected hospitals and treatment centres across the country.

The death toll meanwhile stands at 247 at present.
