The Western Province Governor’s Office says that vehicle owners in the Western Province can obtain vehicle revenue licenses online from today (13).

Accordingly, vehicle revenue licenses can be obtained by accessing the website www.motortraffic.wp.gov.lk between 5.00 p.m. and 7.00 a.m.

The Chief Secretary of Western Province previously announced that the issuance of vehicle revenue licenses will be temporarily halted for two weeks in the Western Province due to an update in the computer system.

However, during a recent meeting with the Western Province Governor, it was decided to resume the service for all vehicles excluding motorcycles and three-wheelers effective from Friday (October 15) to prevent any inconvenience caused to the public.

Accordingly, vehicle revenue licenses can now be obtained on weekdays from the head office of the Motor Traffic Department and all Divisional Secretariats in Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts.

In addition, the grace period granted until December 31 for vehicle revenue licenses registered in the Western Province which expire from August 12 will continue to be in effect.
