AG directs IGP to transfer Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon

The Attorney General has instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to transfer Senior DIG in charge of Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon.

The AG has instructed to transfer the Senior DIG in order to prevent any undue interventions in the investigations in to the incidents of violence that occurred on 09 May.

The Senior DIG in charge of Western Province had recorded a statement at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) regarding the recent unrest for more than 10 hours on Tuesday (May 17).
