Met. Dept. warns of severe lightning in several provinces

The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, North-western, North-central, Southern and Uva provinces this evening.

According to the department, temporary localized strong winds are expected during thundershowers.

The public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize the damages caused by lightning activity.
