Fees charged for NIC-related services revised

The Public Security Ministry has amended the fees charged for the services related to National Identity Cards (NICs).

In a special gazette notification published on Monday (Oct. 23), Public Security Minister Tiran Alles upped the charges pursuant to the regulations made under Section 52 of the Registration of Persons Act No. 32 of 1968.

Thereby, the fee levied for the issuance of a certified copy of an NIC has been set at Rs. 1,000.

In addition, the fees for the certification of authenticity of the particulars relating to an NIC have also been revised. As such, Rs. 25 will be charged for the online submissions made through the Registration of Persons Department’s website. Meanwhile, the fee for submissions made by way of a physical document or electronic means acceptable to the Commissioner General has been set at Rs. 500.

Further, the fee for the registration of a person as a photographer, under the Act, has been raised from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000.

The annual fee for the renewal of Certificate of Registration has been increased to Rs. 3,000 from Rs. 2,000.
