Sluice gates of Lunugamwehera Reservoir opened

The Lunugamwehera Reservoir’s sluice gates have been opened as a precautionary measure in response to substantial rainfall in its catchment regions. 

The Irrigation Department has disclosed that presently, six sluice gates of the reservoir are open, each by one foot.

Consequently, the Tissamaharama Divisional Secretary has issued a warning to residents in the lowlands adjacent to the Lunugamwehera reservoir along Kirinda Oya, urging them to stay alert.his regard.
