Mobile court units inaugurated at several prisons for remote judicial proceedings

The inauguration of mobile court systems, facilitating the remote presentation of suspects before courts through online channels, took place today (04) at three prisons in the Southern Province.

These mobile court systems, established with financial support from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, were officially launched at the Agunukolapelessa, Matara, and Galle prisons.

The mobile court unit at Agunukolapelessa Prison was declared open this morning in the presence of Minister of Justice, Wijeyadasa Rajapakse.
