Foreigner injured after base jumping from Colombo Lotus Tower

A foreigner national has reportedly sustained injuries in an accident while participating in the Base Jump event at the Colombo Lotus Tower this afternoon (13).

According to reports, the foreigner had suffered a parachute failure after jumping from the tower due to strong gusty winds resulting in a delay in its deployment.

The US national, who sustained minor injuries to his head following the accident, has been rushed to Colombo National Hospital for treatment. However, his condition in not critical, according to hospital sources.
