March 16 declared a public holiday

UPDATE (10:27 PM): The Department of Government Information says that March 16 will be declared a public, mercantile and bank holiday.


Minister of Public Administration Janaka Bandara Tennakoon has announced that next Monday (March 16) will be declared a public holiday.

It is reported that this decision was taken to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country.
