Sri Lanka all out for 214 in first ODI

Sri Lanka posted a total of 214 before they were bowled out at the end of 46 overs in the first ODI match being played against Australia at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.

While the openers Pathum Nissanka and Avishka Fernando were sent packing for less than 10 runs, Sri Lanka’s skipper Charith Asalanka smashed 127, as he reached his 4th ODI century in just 126 deliveries to help strength the hosts’ total.

Dunith Wellalage scored 30 runs while Kusal Mendis and Janith Liyanage hit 19 and 11 runs respectively.

This is the first ODI series between the two sides since 2022 when Australia visited Sri Lanka for a 5-match series. Sri Lanka had won that series 3-2 and will be eyeing another series win over Australia. However, they will have their task cut out against the high-flying visitors.
