Over 1 million flood victims and counting

Over one million people islandwide have been affected by the flooding, the Disaster Management Center said. Deputy Director of the Center Pradeep Kodippili says that 641 camps have currently been established for the displaced people.
Meanwhile the government has taken steps to provide flood victims with food and provisions taken from food storage facilities.
The distribution of the items was started yesterday (February 05) and will also be distributed tomorrow and the following day from the stores, Chairman of Lak Sathosa, Nalin Fernando said.
