Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan by 4 wickets in a Super Sixes Group 1 encounter of the Under-19 World Cup at Windhoek.

Chasing a modest target of 194, Sri Lanka crossed the line in 46.5 overs. Senuja Wekunagoda top scored with 79-ball 43.

Dimantha Mahavithana hit 37 while Dulnith Sigera, Kavija Gamage and Chamika Heenatigala made telling contributions at the lower order.

Earlier, Afghanistan after being sent into bat were skittled out for 193 in 49.5 overs.

Osman Sadat top scored with 61 off 107 balls while Azizullah Miakhil hit 58-ball 43.

Viran Chamuditha and Kugathas Mathulan picked two wickets apiece.

Sri Lanka next meet South Africa on Thursday at Bulawayo.
