Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to field first against Oman in the eighth game of the 2026 T20 World Cup at the SSC grounds in Colombo.

After winning the toss, a confident looking Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza said he is expecting some help for the bowler early on and then batters will be able to test themselves chasing ahead of some key clashes.

Raza said, “There would be some moments in the first few overs, so we want to give a chance to our bowlers. We have been here for some time, which has helped us in our preparations. The idea is to bowl first and then allow our batters to chase it down.”

Oman skipper Jatinder Singh would have bowled first as well.

“We would have bowled first as well. The wicket will settle down in the second innings. The preparations have been great. The conditions are different here, but the preparations have been spot on,” he said.
