Sri Lanka thump Philippines in Division I decider

  Sri Lanka were crowned the Asian Rugby Championship Div I winners after beating Philippines 27-14.

Top 5 veterans Philippines and Sri Lanka set up the rematch at ARC Division I Asia Rugby Championship Division I final after opening wins over Singapore and Kazakhstan respectively today at the new Philippine Sports Stadium outside of Manila.

The two squads’ last duel saw the Filipinos stealing a 26-25 victory in the final minutes of their faceoff in the 2014 Asian 5 Nations meet in Colombo and the Sri Lanka Tuskers had looked to return the favor in the 6 p.m. titular showdown at the Volcanoes’ 20,000-seater home stadium.
